Ria: What I love in the song is its flexibility of meaning. This song can be applied both to plutonic friends and lovers. It's about having someone to lean on and be dependent on during tough times and knowing that they'll stay by your side no matter what. Everybody needs someone to lean on, especially in these trying times, and this song will give you that hope that you do have someone beside you, whether a friend or a lover. As a helpless romantic, this song is absolutely swoon-worthy.
The song gives a very vintage-like vibe, with the heavy drums and guitar. But even so, it has a balanced texture of a ballad the instruments letting the melody flow and the voices sing on their own. The contrasting voices of Ashe and FINNEAS also go together harmoniously.
Jhanya: The first time I listened to the song, with lyrics (I watched the MV first), I swooned, and I cried. Like legit sobbed in front of my laptop out of nowhere, and the lyric in violet above was the trigger. This song felt so raw and full of emotion. It hits you with every.single.line.
This is definitely one of, if not the most romantic, non-romance songs (if that makes sense lmao). I mean, yeah it can be a song for a romantic partner. But personally, I see Till Forever Falls Apart as a love song about platonic love, like with a friend or family. It shows a unique twist to all the romantic ballads that have come out recently. The song mainly talks about loving a person through all the highs, the lows, and the uncertainties of life. The line “We’ve been living on a fault line”, tells the listener how every day in our lives, we’re on edge and do not know when or what something good or bad will happen. That we all are living on a fault line called life which is full of uncertainties (for Ashe and FINNEAS, they literally do, as California is situated above the San Andreas fault). But despite these uncertainties, we have someone that we love unconditionally, our forever, ‘til forever falls apart. And this song helps the listener be thankful for that someone in their life, which is just absolutely beautiful.
Given the situation, specifically the pandemic, we are in now, Till Forever Falls Apart is very appropriate. At times, it actually feels like everything is falling apart and it is scary, but simply knowing that someone is there with you, can help make it less so. This, in a nutshell, is the message of Till Forever Falls Apart, it teaches us to appreciate the people we love and who love us unconditionally. The people who are there even when shit hits the fan. The people who make us realize that we're not alone.
